Beth got to Africa!

Just a brief update - as it is now 2:45 am local time here in Dar Es Salaam. Despite a re-routing through Newark - which I was trying to avoid - all went smoothly and I arrived in Dar Es Salaam just 30 minutes after our expected arrival time. I traveled from Raleigh to Newark, and Newark to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam we flew to Kiliminjaro with an hour stop and then continued into Dar. It was dark , so we could not see Mt. Kiliminjaro - perhaps another time. The last leg of the trip I joined up with one of my colleagues so we arrived together and shared a ride to the hotel. Once we got to our rooms, the staff told us that most of the rest of the team was waiting for us in the bar/restaurant. So we got our bags into our rooms and headed over to meet the team. It was a great time - meeting most of the people I'll be spending 4 weeks with. I think this trip is going to be great. Was so pleased to finally meet these guys in person.
